Sunspots & Freckle Removal

Sunspots/freckles prevention is better than developing them.

• You should minimise sun exposure, definitely avoid peak sun hours. Wear a high factor sunscreen every time you step outside the house.
• If you are out in the sun for long periods of time you should reapply sun protection cream every few hours.
• You can wear protective clothing such as hats and sunglasses.
• Avoid other sources of UV light. The use of tanning beds and sun lamps is hazardous because the ultraviolet radiation they deliver can damage your skin. Tanning will definitely make freckles darker and appear more prominent.

So the best way to prevent sunspots & freckles is to protect yourself from the sun.

Protection must also be worn when indoors. With sun exposure of 300-400 nm (the UVA range) sunspots/freckles become darker. Since this band of sunlight is not filtered out by window glass, sunspots/freckles will become darker even with indoor exposure. This range of light energy is also emitted by fluorescent light, so if you have freckles you need to wear a UVA sunscreen if you work under fluorescent lighting.
