Why consider IPL Acne Control Treatment?

    • This treatment is widely recognised as an effective solution for mild to moderate Inflammatory Acne.
    • It has been shown that the major bacterial cause of Acne, Propionibacterium Acnes can be destroyed by the application of light.
    • The Intense Pulse Light treatments greatly reduce the number of active lesions, lessening the inflammation and frequency of breakouts.
    • The IPL works within the skin causing no damage, irritation or downtime.

    How our IPL works?

    • The IPL light is absorbed by the hemoglobin which heats up the area producing a minor reaction to the sebaceous glands. This will slow down the production of oil that leads to Acne and enlarged pore size.
    • Our system penetrates deeply into the skin, heating the overactive sebaceous glands and reducing sebum output. It is thought that reversible thermal damage to sebaceous glands can result in long term remission from acne.
    • The IPL Treatment will also produce new collagen which means there will be fewer scars and fine lines and wrinkles will be reduced.

    • We do not use Blue light. Blue light is sometimes used for destroying bacteria, however blue light has short wavelengths therefore skin penetration depths are limited. This makes it difficult for the light to penetrate the skin sufficiently to target bacterial in deep blocked pores.
    • We only use Yellow light. Recent studies indicate that Yellow light, which has a greater skin penetration depth than blue light is more effective at targeting the bacteria that causes Acne.
    • We use broadband light sources which are the only systems that can offer shorter wavelengths for optimum surface bacterial destruction, whilst also getting to the deep-seated bacteria existing in pustules and papules and targeting the sebaceous glands themselves.
    • We offer the optimum systems and light sources to kill bacteria in the skin and treat Acne.

      Post Treatment Advice

After your treatment you need to follow the post treatment advice. Your skin is photo sensitive after being exposed to a laser, so the most important thing to remember is to protect your skin by using a minimum of SPF 30 and not use any harsh chemicals on the treatment area during the course of the treatment.
